Rev. Septimus Trelor? Kid's drama circa'79?

Does this name ring a bell with anyone? He was the lead character in a childrens mystery series in about 1979. He was a retired police detective turned vicar. The story revolved around a missing gold grail and the only thing I can't remember is the title!!!
