Wesley Pegden in last of the summer rain

Hi all.

Can anyone tell me what happened to Gorden Warmsby, the actor who played Wesley Pegden in last of the summer wine? Ive noticed his name & the character he played dont feature in the series from 2004. nothing was mentioned in the program, I wondered if he had died or had left. can anyone enlighten me please?

I've just looked on Imdb and he died on the 18th May 2002
