At Christmas they still play the Helmans Mayonaise ad which plays on the 12 days of christmas song....been using it since the mid 80s. I guess certain ads worked so well the ad execs decide they can re-use them over and over. One of the most incorrect 'retro' style ads is the new Volkswagen 'UP' car ad: it makes out that 'big sideburns' were introduced in the 1980s, that big ghettoblasters came out in the 1990s...quite stupid of the ad execs.

I also think it shows adland runs out of ideas so they churn out the old stuff a lot...new ads on the whole are sh-t creatively.

Totally agree there, they messed that one up completely.
The shot of the dude with the ghetto blaster must be from 10 years before they claim it it.
Fools, glad i'm not the only one wound up by that terrible ad sf1378.
