      There was an advert recently on tv that had a ginger monkey in it along with a he man type toy a teddy and my fav amongst the lot Godzilla.Now what was the advert?.All the toys costumes shown would date from the 60's into the 80's.My sister had a ginger monkey just like the one thats in the advert.

          Dear oh dear,
          Some people on here are either totally ignorant or totally racist.
          Gollywogs had to go because they are offensive, it's really that simple.
          Political correctness is not ridiculous, it's fair. Equality for all.
          I suppose you all want the Black & White Minstrel Show to return too.
          This is 2013, not 1950, catch up people.

            What are you thoughts about the Britannia coconutters or other forms of local traditional dance like morris who often have blacked up faces.What about the Isle of sheppy zulus who raise money for charity.Would you ban centurys of tradition?.

                Well, if they black up their faces then I consider that offensive and would happily ban centuries of tradition.
                There are many things that are inherently wrong that are only carried on in the name of tradition.
                We all need to move on.

                    Anyway,getting back on track there was the Cadbury's drumming gorilla advert in the last few years and the jammie dodger monkey adverts.
