Actor in Ready When You Are, Bob?

Does anyone know the name of the actor who looks a bit like Ringo Starr circa 1970 in the old Tetley's Mild advert (1981 I Think)? He says "Ready when you are, Bob". He had long hair and a moustache and sounds Yorkshire.

I know that the actor Michael Angelis sounds like Ringo Starr hence him taking over the Thomas the Tank Engine narration, but I don't think that it was him.

I am probably confusing the Tetley bitter adverts with the John Smith ones in my mind. Was it Gordon Rollings who was the very first presenter of Play School? Probably not.
