Here's an ad for St. Ivel Gold. I used to love the taste of that stuff, unfortunately they don't produce it anymore. Does anyone else remember it?

I wonder when they stopped making it? - mid to late 1990s, perhaps? When I started the "Grease" St Ivel Shape Yoghurt advert which was seen in early 1996, I found out from my research that St Ivel doesn't seem to exist anymore and another company (Danone?) continues the brand up until very recently.

I always think of mid 1980s ad breaks during Monday's Coronation Street when I think of old St Ivel Gold adverts being shown, usually during the summer months - abstract images of things in the advert as well as pictures drawn in the margarine just like what you have linked there, before being replaced by the unpeeled St Ivel Gold lid on the margarine tub. Michael Jayston often the voiceover in the adverts.

The adverts remind me of the 1980s Castrol GTX adverts with the golden liquid (looked a bit like something else!) running down the side of the petrol can - possibly made by the same advertising agency as St Ivel Gold? - I used to think that their advertising felt to be in a very similar vein.
