I badgered my parents for weeks to take me to see Grease at the cinema and eventually my Dad caved - that is still probably my best ever cinema memory. In those days the local cinema only had one screen and would show a new film until people got tired of it - Grease ran for months! We didn't have Netflix, dvds or even videos then and only 3 TV channels so seeing a new film at the cinema was a treat. Afterwards I badgered my parents until Christmas for the Grease LP...I still have it

    War of the Gargantuas (1966)
As cheesy as the film is today it was always a special event for me whenever it was aired on TV. I include the original Japanese trailer because it shows more of the better scenes than the American one. I especially dig the laser tanks.

I really like BTTF, when it was on at Xmas 1988 I recorded it & kept it for many years.

I now have all 3 films on DVD.

Back To The Future - Mainly cause i had went to see it with my dad and ended up being stranded as we missed our last bus and had to hitchhike home lol.
Restless Natives - One of the few films me and my dad would sit down and watch and laugh at, plus it had an amazing soundtrack from Big Country
Some Kind Of Wonderful - Just an amazing film and still hits me today....
Stand By Me - Wonderful film, wonderful cast and the scene where river phoenix fades away still is a big scene to me as he was such a loss to movies

other films i get sentimental about are the 3 superman films and supergirl with helen slater.
reason being is at that age i was having a great time i had my first so called girlfriend.

Yes, films are very atmospheric of a time we have loved and lost aren't they?

    thats sweet F.S.
    One of mine is E.T.
It was the very first film i saw in the cinema.

I saw it with my uncle in downpatrick.
It also makes me very sad and whenever its on ill make sure to watch it.
Everytime i see it it reminds me of that night i saw it at the cinema a very rainy night near 3 decades ago.

The Battle Of Britain - Forumites please dont laugh!

Every time this was shown, my Dad always got some beers in, and I watched it with him! Great fun! I hold this film close to my heart for this reason, happy evenings with dad enthusiastically complaining about all the wrong props and clothing throughout this film! OK, it's not perfect in continuity, but I loved this film and always will!
