  • Neverending story 1984

One of my fave films ever.

I remember seeing it the cinema and i just loved it so much and 30 and a bit yrs later i still love it as much if not more.

Swamps of sadness always get me teary when artex sinks into the sand.
But get very happy when atreyu is rescued by falcor just before g mork gets him.

    Wonderful soundtrack as well.

From what i hear its based on a book and the characters bastian and his dad its the dad who is a bit grumpy not the son bastian is more like the dad very calm.

It just has an amazing charm to it it puts you through every emotion possible from the swamps of sadness to where falcor and bastian see the ivoiry tower again after the nothing had destroyed the world.

Have loved this film from the day it came out in 1984.

Have the poster of it too.

                      SUCH A WONDERFUL SOUNDTRACK.

                        Re: Neverending story 1984

There was a book called The Never-ending Story which I can remember being sold in bookshops around the time I left school (1983).I did not get to read it until after the release of the film. But then that's another story.

The film itself was fantastic. I was in my Dungeons and Dragons years by then,(pre Warhammer) so it appealed to me immensely. I even went as far as buying the single for the theme tune, and because it had a picture of Falcor on it. We used to have a second hand book shop and I later managed to get the film picture book from there. It was a good book even showing behind the scenes from making of the film. If I remember rightly, they had full sized puppets of Falcor which needed brushing out daily to stop the fur from knotting and looking bad.
