Seeing the other thread on a B movie, it reminded me of a couple that I saw at the cinema which I'm sure were better than the main features they supported.
One was 'The Godsend', 1980, with Malcolm Stoddard. I don't even recall the name of the film it supported, such was the impression this one made on me. I've since found the datails on the Internet and must see about getting a copy of the DVD.
But the one I want help with.......
There is a young boy in a jungle or dense forest setting. There is a lake, or it could be marshland. He has a little boat that he rows and he is joined by a chimpanzee. The animal isn't exactly a pet. The boy just has this special connection with animals - others too that he meets. He considers them his friends.
That's all I have. I definitely saw it at the cinema, probably in the seventies, and I'm 90% sure it was the second feature.
