Top Secret, Batchelor Party the original Police Academy is still quite good too but the sequels are about as funny as a Chris Moyles and James Corden double act.
Ive always liked Life of Brian too but i never really understood it properly till i was 12.

The Party starring Peter Sellers. There's one scene where a waiter opens a door and knocks him off his seat. Has me in tears everytime I see it.

The film with the most laughs by far is AIRPLANE with Leslie Neilsen. There is literally not a minute goes by without something funny going on, either on screen or in the background. I had to watch this film about 6 times before I managed to see/get all the jokes, as I was too busy the first few times laughing out loud.

Blazzing Saddles is also very funny.

The so called British comedy great films, Notting Hill, 4 Weddings, The Full Monty are mildy amusing but do not really have that many laugh out loud moments.

Still its all about opinions
