Cant remember the title to this one

Hello peeps this is my first post and found this site by luck.

There was a TV show that was shown Now I'm not sure if it was Late 70s or 80's.
It was on ITV around 2:30 maybe 3pm not too sure on the time.
All I remember is there was a jockey that got injured during a race when he fell off a horse and the horse stood on his his hand and crushed it.
I think it involved gangsters..
Its doing my Nut in.
