Dubbed children's drama

Does anyone remember a children's drama, I think it was originally Scandinavian or German, and dubbed. Have really sketchy memories of it, even the plot, but this is what I remember was about a boy that had tons of money and his friends were trying to find him, the opening titles had a carousel in it, the boy lived in a 'cool' house on an island - lots of cream interiors, glass, etc - and often wore a white suit. Was on the BBC.
