A long shot,but worth a try

Firstly i would like to say hi to the forum, came across this forum quite by mistake,glad i did.
i seem to remember a very creepy story, from my childhood sometime in the 70s i think,
it scared the hell out of me at the time,although vague i seem to remember, a cottage or house having some renovation work, an urn or some sort of container found hidden behind a wall,an owner getting up during the night to investigate a noise,getting to the staircase,a rocking chair with someone or something sat rocking,thats all i remember,i use to think it was armchair thriller(quiet as a nun)but pretty sure it is not,anyway i hope someone can help me out.Thanks
