The one metioned at the start of the thread is definately The Vault of horror. It was on over xmas. It was Terry Thomas who ended up in jars and the woman climbing up a snake was actually the old Indian rope trick which starred Curt Jurgens. Tom Baker was also in it. For me, you can't beat a bit of Dr Phibes.

many generations never saw it.

and the
i still watch em regular.

stories are so creepy and scary full of tension.
