Kids show form the 70s at a fairground

Hi! Was wondering if anyone could help me name a kids show I loved during the 70s, my memories are vague but I can remember it was a puppet show with a fox and his companion who lived in or near a fairground. I always believed Christopher Lillicrap was in it but I've searched his work on the net and can't find anything remotely similar. Any ideas?
