Late 70s TV series... Going Home? Coming Home?

Hi all, I vaguely remember a series in late 70s, it was repeated early 80s about a divorced Executive at a jet engine company. He went back home to reacquaint himself with his son & ex wife who's now married to a garage owner (I think). The series finishes with the son going off to start a new life with his dad. I could have sworn it was either called 'Going Home' or 'Coming Home' can't recall if it was on BBC or ITV.

Ideas anyone?

Sorry, yes, was British, suppose you'd call it fairly light drama, spit across 6, maybe 8 hour long episodes. It had some quite pleasant intro music. Can't recall any of the cast. I remember the story line quite well. Just really about a couple who divorce, go off in separate directions, but then become entwined again many years later. The show focussed on the latter, that of them meeting up again.
