Help with idenifying Children's TV Programme

I only have a few hazy memories. The best one is of the end when a creature/monster? said goodbye at the end and he said "nighty, nighty" in a deep monstery way then flung himself back on some old sacks for a bed.

Me and my sister (she is in her 50s now and I'm in my 40s still say "nighty nighty" to each other but neither of us can remember the programme! Help please?

Would be interesting to know.Been thinking about this for the last few days.Althow the Nighty Night bit rings a bell it could of come from anywhere including the radio with me.Do you have any more info on it.
