  • 60s Saturday morning compendium show

Does anyone remember a sort of compendium programme that was on Saturday mornings in the late 60s? I think it may have had the Banana Splits in, but it was a series of different kids features, cartoons, etc. And I seem to remember it was introduced by a sort of Jolly Green Giant figure....Probably on ITV.

Quick mention this before the mods find it I thought it was on in the EARLY SEVENTIES, so yes I remember it. Maybe my recollection is wrong, but I thought it was on BBC. Wasn't it just called the Banana Splits Show? They introduced clips by saying " and now its time for Micro Venture" or something like that. It also featured as I recall The Arabian Knights, "size of a mouse".
And unfortunately that's what will happen to anyone who mentions anything before the 70's!
That's no golf ball Mr. Solo..

And let's not forget Ali Bongo's Cartoon Carnival.

Ali Bongo was the presenter of the Ali Bongo’s Cartoon Carnival, which featured himself and his assistant Oscar. It aired on UK TV BBC1 on Saturdays between 23 October and 18 December 1971, a total of nine episodes

Not sure if this is the green figure you mean, though in this video he isn't green but you get the idea. You were lucky to have a colour tv in the 60s.

I would of gone with Banana splits only Glurgen already mentions Banana Splits in their first post.
