Does anyone remember a sort of compendium programme that was on Saturday mornings in the late 60s? I think it may have had the Banana Splits in, but it was a series of different kids features, cartoons, etc. And I seem to remember it was introduced by a sort of Jolly Green Giant figure....Probably on ITV.

Re: 60s Saturday morning compendium show
Quick mention this before the mods find it
I thought it was on in the EARLY SEVENTIES, so yes I remember it. Maybe my recollection is wrong, but I thought it was on BBC. Wasn't it just called the Banana Splits Show? They introduced clips by saying " and now its time for Micro Venture" or something like that. It also featured as I recall The Arabian Knights, "size of a mouse".
And unfortunately that's what will happen to anyone who mentions anything before the 70's!
That's no golf ball Mr. Solo..

Not sure if this is the green figure you mean, though in this video he isn't green but you get the idea. You were lucky to have a colour tv in the 60s.Originally posted by glurgen View PostAnd I seem to remember it was introduced by a sort of Jolly Green Giant figure....Probably on ITV.
