Someone mentioned on a forum, sometime in 2008, that many years ago there was a one-off British TV play, not played for laughs, about an erratic and hyperactive mother who embarrasses her son so much that he can bring himself to tell others that she is his mother, so he calls her a "sort of aunt." Unfortunately, this is the only information they provided, and unfortunately, there is no way to get in contact with the person who said it.
I considered "Green Wing", "Armchair Theater" (especially episode "A Night Out"), "the Wednesday Play", "Play for Today", and even the teleplay (don't know if it is British though) "the Loneliest Runner." Anyway, I just read about these shows, I have not watched them, so I do not know for sure if any of them is the correct answer. Does this British TV play seem familiar to anyone? Please help, thanks.
