    Re: Wwf / wwe

WWE has been pretty good lately, every PPV this year has been great, it's been years since that happened lol

they seem to be finding their balls again at last, after being so wimpy over the last few years, Kane even got put through a flaming table at Extreme Rules.

The biggest problem has been the move from the attitude era when it was literally anything goes to the new P G era which has been aimed at a younger audience but has resulted in a fall in viewing figures, it would appear that they are trying to find a happy medium

First watched the WWF as it was known back then in 1989. It distracted me from revising for my GCSE exams at the time. It's been interesting to see how the business has changed over the years. The Attitude Era is still the period I love the best. Probably the one incident from the past that sticks out more than anything is the Randy Savage snakebite segment when Jake Roberts tied him up in the ring ropes, took out his cobra and made it clamp on Savage's bicep. I was so shocked at the time and watching the video again on Youtube it still brings me out in chills.

The Summerslam match between Davey Boy and Bret Hart at Wembley was a classic one. Bret Hart is easily one of my favourite wrestlers and it's sad that due to a mistimed kick to the side of the head by Bill Goldberg that Bret had to retire way too early. I don't really remember the Owen Hart tragedy at the Kemper Arena but I did have the following night's RAW on tape when it became a tribute programme and seeing some of the wrestlers becoming emotional in paying their respects was strange as I wasn't used to seeing them out of character. Glad to see that Bret and Vince McMahon have buried the hatchet over everything that happened over the Montreal screwjob.
