TV Show theme identify

Hopefully this should be fairly easy.

70s synthesiser-type theme tune, used to think it was something kids/sciency but I seem to remember it was from a different genre than I thought - maybe political World In Action-type thing, or even Krypton Factor-type game show or something.

I used to know what this was, but have forgotten again and it's bugging me so I made a quick little mockup of the theme tune as I remember it.

If someone can put me out of my misery and let me know what the show was, I'd be grateful!

The tune is Vangelis..Pulsar from Albedo 0.39

Are you sure you have the right soundtrack?


There was a 70's/80's ITV show called "Where there's life" with Dr Rob Buckland and Miriam Stoppard. Used to be on Wednesday nights maybe before Coronation street.


The theme tune was Jean Michel Jarre's "Oxegene part 4", as per following clip:

Yes, the track and show have been identified correctly. I'm very familiar with Oxygene IV, that's not the track I was trying to identify.

The melody I recorded was the track I was after, and it is Vangelis' Pulstar, and the only show this was used for in the UK was Horses Galore (the track has been used in other countries for other things).

So it was the sports genre, not the news, politics, kids, drama, quiz or science that I seemed to think it was...
