I think it was an early 90s one-off drama shown on the BBC or ITV.
It was about these secondary school kids led by one particular adolescent who (I think) worshipped Oliver Cromwell.
Anyway, they kidnapped and tried to blackmail a teacher from the school, who ended up hanging himself.
Very dark, very good drama though - wish I could remember its name.
