Can you help? 1980's tv show

I wonder if any on here can help. I'm searching for a UK television that was on in the 1980's I think around 1984-85. It was a kids show but similar in style to say Grange Hill. It was about a girl who was the lead singer in a band the band being set up for the show so there were various musical performances and I think she may have worked in a cafe in it. In the very last episode she left to go to America. Ring any bells with anyone? maybe the title?

I've been directed to this show before, mainly through trying to tack down one of the costars. She was inGrange hill as Tricia Yates sister and also in pop videos for BA Robertson (Bang Bang) and Depeche Mode's See You. I thought she was yum back then...
