A TV show (maybe a movie) that i watched a very long time ago.

There's a reporter of undercover officer investigating this family of hillbillies/rednecks that have apparently been murdering people. The reporter gets close to the father of the family who is severely retarded and is manipulated by the others, and the guy doing the investigating thinks he can use the father to expose the family.

However, at the end, the investigator realises he has been played, the father isn't retarded at all, and is actually in charge of the family. The father then kills the investigator with his bare hands.

The father was played by Richard Griffiths, or an actor who looks like him. I had a look at Richard's IMDB page, but I didn't see anything that seemed familiar.
