hello, now I know this is going to be a hard one for anyone thats into eighties thrillers and suspense material, but all I can remember is that this programme was on the same lines as tales of the unexpected, one of the episodes was to do with a big vault safe and that people suffocated when they entered the safe, and all I remember is that on the opening credit, I recalled a red screen with a large black circle and a heavy haunting sound effect... yes i'm sorry I cannot give any further info, but it's doing my head in trying to think what the programme was called, am hope any one can help, having said I'm sure it was late seventies and early eighties on ITV. cheers richardcompton@hotmail.com

other suspense ITV classics wanted
that reminds me if anyone can think of others series on the lines of tales of the unexpected let me know as I just love them, some people may find them a bit cheesy, but I think the characters, the film sets and script are all good and great viewing at night....... plus I wish there was somewhere, where you can buy ITV dramas, plays, thrillers and alike on DVD, as there seems to be limited on the likes of ebay and amazon, so i;m sure there a specialist retailer out there who supply cult titles.

Re: 80's suspense horror thriller
cheers danny boy, I only logged on a few hours ago and got a reply which I certainly will look into, and I've had a look at oggy ebay shop and I see there's nothing for sale, so it go's to show that the cult 70's and 80's shows are in demand..... Even though I may have over 300 cable channels to choose from, I seem to be more and more getting in retro material, I suppose more real, loose and indeed characters, which we dont seem to have anymore... all gloss and make up, false and over acting, I just hope one day the cable stations will release a dedicated cable channel, now what would you call it CULT TV, RUBIC CHANNEL, RETRO, or??? looks like I may create a new topic on the forum........

I'd call my channel "Lucky Bag" as it reminds me of my chilhood (late sixties early seventies). A bag of assorted sweets that you dipped into. I'd dip into the channel and find "The Champions" say. Even if I've seen the episode, I'll probably spot a make of car, or marvel at Alexandra's beehive hairdo, defying gravity as she ducks through a deserted warehouse! Dip in a bit later and probably see one of your "Thriller" episodes or maybe "The Sweeney". Whatever is on, it will be the original broadcast version. Not something butchered to enable four commercial breaks every hour.
