Who remembers Lancelot link secret chimp?, he was a chimpanzee secret agent, this was made early 70s and was in the same vein as the PG tips ads.This type of programme would never get made today ofcourse,and rightly so, apparently they would stick gum to the roof of the chimps mouths in order to get them to move there mouths to mimic speaking

I'm not sure if the series was ever on BBC/ITV during the 70's/80's but I remember Sky showed the whole series during the late 90's. Pretty funny if I remember.

Yeah first shown in the early 70s not sure what channel however,the chimps dident appear distressed but even so this type of show would never get made today on the grounds of animal cruelty/exploitation
