wierd alien show from 80's

Hi, my husband is trying to remember the name of a show he used to watch in the early 80's. Some men found parts of a space ship on a beach in Cornwall or Devon. In it was a monster who walked around killing people and you saw through its eyes and the screen went dead. He thinks one person was attacked on a golf course. At the end it was found out to be a russian experiment gone wrong. Has been driving him mad for years.

Was it the Uninvited? Leslie Grantham was in it too, British horror series....

No, it was called "The Nightmare Man".

It started with sheep being mutilated and then people. It turned out not to be a spaceship but an experimental Soviet Submarine where the "pilot" is part of the sub (early cyborg) and had escaped.

it was good and the local Lord ends up being a Soviet spy, great stuff !

Will be taking delivery of the "The Changes" series this week, from 1975, can't wait, frightened the life out of me. Re-read the books when I bought them for my children and they were still very good.
