I clearly remember Dr Snuggles...very catchy theme tune. I remember being sick this particular time. I had to take horrible medicine...I remember, one sunny evening, my mam giving me sweets to suck to make the medicine go down easier. Dr Snuggles was on tv at the time.

there where 13 episodes and it lasted 25 minutes per episode.
it was shown on itv in the UK.

it had 3 countries of origin.
UK GERMANY AND NETHERLANds.

This may be false memory syndrome, but I'm sure an episode of Dr Snuggles was interrupted or postponed to report the arrest of the Yorkshire Ripper. Dr Snuggles used to be on about 4.15pm in my region, in a children's segment called Watch It!
It was only years later of course that I realised who or what the Sutcliffe did.
So whenever I think of Dr Snuggles, I actually think of something else...

One episode - where someone cuts a cube of water out of the sea, possibly the same one with the lonely river hiding in a cave - was written by Douglas Adams of Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy fame.

The show is now available on DVD - it's on Amazon, although if you look around, you might find discs in Poundstretcher (I've found three vols so far).

Had a few of the figurines when I was a kid - quite sturdy as I recall.
