Hate how they split films with "News at ten"...as an aside in France they used to have the news and lots of adverts between 8.30-9pm then show a film straight through without breaks...simple idea

My wife and daughter love the muppet show, have all 5 seasons of it now. Just thought it was amusing that your childhood memories included watching the news. No offence.

It was more the era - and Leonard Parkin does remind me of my childhood, he was always on the news...maybe I'm a bit weird

Set in fictional Fulchester Crown court, characters played by actors but the jury was real people.

You can see some of todays actors as up and coming unknowns in the show. most famous is probably Richard wilson.

The 2nd half of News at 5.45 "with Leonard Parkin" - October 24th 1979...took me back to being 5 again. This was the return of ITV after their 8 week strike....Corrie is featured on the news, then check out "Welcome home to ITV" feature on tonight's programmes.
I want to go back in time....

Anyone else agree that ITV national news these days is a pile of pap? I can't stand it, however I do prefer ITV local news to bbc's.
