  • BBC mini series. Need Help identify??

    Hi all,

I been watching a lot of Victorian-era series lately on Netflix and some BBC old school classics like David Copperfield 1999 lol. This series had been on the mind and frustrating me. I need help with the name of the series....Where do I begin?...:

Well: It were shown on TV - back in late 90s to early 2000 on BBC... BBC broadcast a bunch of Victorian era series.

I believe its a BBC mini-series. Set in the Victorian era. The only plot I could remember: A p https://omegle.onl/oor woman had sex with another man while her son were hiding under the bed. This random man either left food or money for the lady.

The woman were caught stealing but instead of going to jail. I think she were tricked and sold to a brothel that were owned by an gentleman. Of course the lady rejects and refused to see clients and want to return to her son. However, she were held in a room with bricked windows. Sometime later she hang her behind door.

The owner of the brothel didn't inform the police. The lady body were instead dumped in the river Thames. Anyway, it discovered by some kid... Cant remember the rest.

    Does anyone recognize this series?

I was surprised that there were hardly any reviews for this series. And the film was really worth watching. The film is great and should be seen by those who love a decent adaptation. Where the image of the old England, its way of life is perfectly described. But for the fans of action films and all sorts of movies, there is nothing to do here. The format is too different. It is old England, the book version, so to say. A series like this you have to watch slowly, absorbing all the dialogues of the characters, enjoy the atmosphere of the movie, feel as if you are reading a book, turning over a new page, savoring the plot. It's worth saying that the movie was made a long time ago, but I watched it just the other day and it managed to win me over.

One of the roles, namely David Copperfield, was played by well-known actor Daniel Radcliffe, who became famous by such motion pictures as Harry Potter. But in my opinion, it was in this film, it was in David Copperfield that his image was fully revealed. Watching the little hero, you want to believe him, his every word and gesture. I watched him and experienced everything with him. I had an impression that he is not a little boy but a real talent with more than a dozen of roles under his belt. He plays very convincingly. I was watching him and could not take my eyes off him. He played the role of an orphan boy very believably. I was also surprised that I could meet an actress like Maggie Smith in that film who also played the role in Potter. But if you draw a kind of analogy between the two films, you can see that they are very similar. Of course, it's not about magic now. It's about the life of a boy who, since childhood, has had to go through a lot of difficult times, experience the bitterness of separation and disappointment. To be deceived and to pull an impossible burden. But the image the artists created for this boy with big blue eyes was quite apt. He was able to beautifully convey all the feelings that can only be experienced in such a set of hardships.

It should be noted that in the second part of this movie we see a grown-up boy, who, to be honest, did not look like himself. Although, to me, the characters should have had some resemblance. Initially, I was not very fond of the image of adult David, but later I also got sympathy for him. But all in all, forgetting about some shortcomings, I have to say that this film deserves the highest mark. It is very interesting and kind. I watched the story, went through everything with the characters and did not regret it. It's a very good film about a decent person who faces a lot of hardships. Despite the fact that the series is quite old, just under twenty years old, I'd still like to recommend it for viewing. I'm sure you won't regret your time watching it. Thank you all for your attention and have a good time!
