1960's childrens book: Mariannes Dream. 1973 ITV childrens show: Escape Into Night. 1988 movie starring Ben Cross: Paper House. Connection? No cheating! Escape into Night was the most terrifying kids show ever..i'm not kidding. Look it up on YouTube. Would never get commissioned today.

There is most certainly no direct link between these three works (other than the fact that they are all directed at children in some way). Here's why.

Time Period: The works span two decades (1960s, 1973, and 1988). While there may be occasional thematic ties between time periods, specific story or character aspects are less likely to persist.
"Marianne's Dream" is probably a children's book, but "Escape into Night" is a television show and "Paper House" is a film. These format differences make broad connections less likely.
Content: "Escape into Night" is characterized as horrifying, whilst the others appear more lighthearted based on titles and genres. Contrasting content reduces the likelihood of a direct relationship.

Two decades pass between the three works' publication dates (1960s, 1973, and 1988). Some themes may cross-pollinate throughout eras, but plot points or characters are less likely to stay put.
Though "Marianne's Dream" is more likely a picture book for kids, "Escape into Night" is more of a TV series, and "Paper House" is more of a movie. Due to these format discrepancies, generalizations are less probable.
According to the descriptions, "Escape into Night" is a terrifying piece of content, whilst the others seem more whimsical in tone and genre. The possibility of a direct correlation is diminished by content that is contradictory.
