anything with sad endings involving animals really :cry::cry:
I'd agree with those two, haven't seen Tarka the Otter, still traumatised by that nasty surprise in Ring of Bright Water! Cinema full of sobbing kids, no warning, nothing...

I was getting mixed up there, Although Tarka the Otter Dies at the end during a fight with one of the Dogs that was chasing Him

It is the " Ring of Bright Water " that really had me bawling when the ditch digger brought down his spade,
I totally unexpected that to happen :cry::cry:

Don't laugh, but it was a storyline in Crossroads when I was an impressionable 14 or 15 year old. Sandy got engaged to a girl I fancied rotten and when he had his accident and ended up in the wheelchair, she couldn't bring herself to marry him. Always remember the tearful scene where she told him, and dreamt about her for weeks afterwards.
Still crazy after all these years.

There was a time when Sandy wasn't in a wheelchair?

Did one of the walls fall on him?

Another sad moment - the point in the last episode of Ulysses 31 when it looks like Hades will not hold up his side of the bargain.

Ah yes, the famous cardboard sets. Here's what really happened to Sandy-

Can't for the life of me find a picture of Stacey Gregg, who played the fiance. Prolly just as well.

Saddest tv moment for me was when Buffy the vampire slayer ended. I loved all 7 seasons and never wanted it to end.

In film, one of the saddest moments was froma movie called Alpha dog. A gang kidnap a rival gang members teenage brother. The little brother has a boring life and is a loner so he's happy to go along with the kidnapping and has no desire to escape. The gang takes to him and Justin Timberlakes character takes him under his wing but when the gangleader finds out that kidnapping carries a life sentence he orders one of the gang members to kill the brother. The scene where this happens and the boy realises what is going on brought a lump to my throat.

I remember many of the sad moments written here and like culnara anything involving animals has me bawling. Bambi's mother being shot, Dumbo's mother chained up, Kes being killed by Billy's brother, Ring Of Bright Water, oh too much!
Then I read branny's post about Alpha Dog. I've never even seen it and I'm welling up here!

The saddest thing in a film I ever saw was when John Coffee was going to the chair in The Green Mile. When he said he didn't want the hood because he was afraid of the dark I bawled my eyes out. Ican never bring myself to watch it again.

If we have to start referencing mushy American films then I'd say the last 3 minutes of "An Officer and a Gentleman" , the factory, the officer, the girl, and that song....I'm filling up just thinking about it !!

Getting back to good old Blighty....Liverpool to be precise... I bawled my eyes out in 1989 whilst watching Brookside when miserable Harry Cross finally relented and wished Ralph and his American girlfriend all the best at the railway station just as the train was about to take them off to a new life!
