80s series about a gambler

Can anyone remember an 80s series, was on a ues or Thurs night and about a guy who gambled a lot and his wife. Sort of about their problems, but not a really heavy gambling programme. This is all I know other than his wife was quite attractive and he had curly hair. Please help - it's driving me mad.....

Yes,sounds like Big Deal.
Starred Ray Brooks as a hopeless gambler playing illegal poker games etc.
His girlfriend was played by Sharon Duce.
