late 70's early 80's whacky show with painting

I'm trying to recall a television program that aired on CBC television in the late 70's or early 80's. The program had very whacky music and characters dressed in what I can only described as artist clothes. The opening had scenes of painting on glass, maybe finger painting in front of the camera and the logo of the program was in cursive hand writing that was mirrored so that it created a strange shape. I don't remember much more about the show other than that it was british I think. I was quite young and although I did not speak english or understand much of it, the images really fascinated me. Hope this rings a bell with someone as it has been bothering me for some time now.

I think thats it. The logo partis correct and I definitely remember the scene with them chasing each other around the tree.
