  • Anyone remember this 2nd World War Drama??

Can anyone remember this? Its really puzzling me

It was either a film or a drama (maybe a 2 parter at 9pm ish) that was on ITV about 15 years ago. It was set in Word War2 and the english had landed in japan, in a jungle. A japanese gunner in a bunker kills loads of english and there is just one english guy left trapped in a bunker opposite....he is there for so long (days) that they become friends and end up sharing food etc can remember much else but I remember it was really good!

    Help! Thanks

Hi JimJam and welcome to the forum (still a bit of a Newbie here myself though) Are you sure it was set in Japan, because I don't think we actually landed there in WWII? I recall something very similar set in the American civil war, although I think that was a full length film. Sure somebody here will know the one you mean.
Still crazy after all these years.

Hi there, thanks for the replies!

        Its not "hell in the.....

Also it may have been set in an island around Japan if not in Japan itself.

This is really annoying as about 3 people in the office remember it but can't provide any more facts about it!

I remember it was billed a lot on ITV which prompted me to watch it (in the same way sharpe was), It was in the 90's when it was aired.

Also i can remeber the english guy (maybe American guy) throwing a tin of food from his bunker to the japanese guys bunker as he had no food. Also the the japanes guys bunker was more an eclosed gun station then a bunker whilst the english guys bunker was literally a small crator.
