    Re: its a knockout

Certainly one of my most favourite programmes as a kid. I have a painful memory of getting over excited one time when the theme tune came on, dancing around the room and smacking my toe off the settee so hard it went black and blue. That's how much I liked it

Yeah, I love Knockout, it's just so stupidly funny, especially with the hysterical commentary.
Unfortunately I was too young to go along & see it being filmed when it came to my town.
The version with Chegwin & Bruno was funny enough too, Frank had a special way of talking about blowing his whistle (if anybody can remember what i'm talking about).
I can't say i'd really want them to bring it back, i'd rather they just repeated all the old episodes.

you dont feel it would work with new presenters mate.
hard to know if it would catch on with todays youth.

it was so very funny but not to the point where u would turn it over.

but yes id love to see it shown again.
          i never tire of it.

shows how successful it was that it ran so long.

whhen was it shot in your town mate.
          your parents went to it.?

Well, to be honest i'm not particularly keen on many TV presenters these days,
I have no idea who would be suitable really.

It was in my home town in 1973,
And as far as I know my parents didn't go to see it.
I don't know why though, i'll have to ask them if they remember it.

              Re: its a knockout

I loved the show also back in the 70's.One of the best programs on telly. It seems my memories of it are fairly much as everybody elses on here. That laughter was hillarious in its own right and the costumes and games were fantastic. In it's hay- day I can't remember any of the games ever getting repeated from week to week. It's almost as if they made it that way so viewers were able to see something new and exciting each and every week.

They did try to revive the show a few years back when it appeared in our town park.It was not the same and somehow the revived program was extreamly boring.I went down and watched it and then a few weeks later watched it on telly.Certainly not the same show I remember and loved so much.I can still watch odd classic clips and be spellbound and amused at them...but not the revived program. They had lost something important from the show, that magic touch that reached out to people.Could of been by that time the program was revived temporarily health and safety laws had clamped down hard so the games were restricted.

I guess they lost the magic formula, that

The domestic It's a knockout was very 70's (all right at the time but was poor looking back on it), however the Euro it's a knockout (Jeux sans frontieres) was brilliant. Stuart Hall sounding like he was on a telephone just added to it. Still a regular you tube watch.

would love to sewe iot back but to be honest im not so sure kids now woulsd like it.

a lot of times when shows comeback they bomb badly.

they would more than likely change it due to health and safety.
H and S have a lot to answer fopr i feel regarding shows like this.

i think someone likwe brucie wouyld be good as a presenter.

I think they should take all the terrible middle of the road presenters and make them compete in a "It's a Knockout" contest. The winner keeps to get appearing on whatever passes for entertainment on tv these days.

My only stipulation is Ant and Dec must be treated as a unit and therefore must both get inside the costumes together.

sort of like a celebrity special mate.

but it would never happen sadly.

none of these presenters celebs would do it.

dont think they had celebs atually participating in the events games in the original.

either way it wont be back.
