Does anyone out there remember a kids drama that used to be on in the mornings years ago (must've been in school hol time) set in Finland or somewhere snowy about a wee chap with blonde hair? There may have been subtitles in it actually. There was a distinctive theme tune to it with the wee fella singing a song that sounded like he was singing 'hoyaw hoyaw hoyaw hoyaw yaw yaw yo'. No one in the world seems to recall it except me.

Foreign (Finnish?) kids tv series
Does anyone remember this? Its not Mika.. The main character was a little blonde boy, I've Finland in my head but I could be mistaken, there was a lot of snow. It was mid 70s. It had a very catchy theme tune (pity I can't type it) and It was sung by a child and it sounded like 'hoya hoya hoya hoya yaw yaw yo'. A girl in my class got into trouble for singing it during class .

The Boy From Lapland?
and here is a link to The Boy from Lapland. This series had a Sami Joik song as it's theme tune.It sort of went: '' Loi La La Loi La La Loi La La Loi La La Loi Loi Loi. ''.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0231157/
The series was called: Ante in Norway.I think it aired here in the UK in 1977.

Here is a picture of the child star: Sverre Porsanger When he appeared in The Boy from Lapland.
I remember someone getting told off in class singing that theme song aswell, when i was in school. One guy hated the programme, because he looked just like Sverre Porsanger, and everyone kept saying how they hated the ugly little boy in the programme.Last edited by moonvisage; 24-04-2010, 21:33.

Re: Foreign (Finnish?) kids tv series
Thanks so much Moonvisage, it must be The Boy from Lapland as I know I was in 3rd class, so that would make it '77. I'm nearly sure that's the wee fella in the photo. The tune I described could well have been the chorus, it must've been 'loi la loi la loi la loi la loi loi low'.
I have a particular memory of my mother giving me Readybrek with orange juice mixed into it. Yuck!! Someone must've told her orange juice was healthy with a cereal in the morning and she misunderstood. I was tearfully sitting over this bowl of grossness watching that programme. She made me eat it!!!

Ah...well if it's Ante and not Mika you remember then you might be interested in our Ante page rather than our Mika Page.

I have just found another link to the boy from lapland, and guess what? They have put the lyrics to that song down ( i never thought that was possible lol ).
http://home.online.no/~groennsl/ante/
Here are the lyrics to the song,so we can all singalong to the clips now.
"Man-ne gal' gá æd-ni gán' da læt nu biv-nut-jå.
Hå-lá-lá låi-lá-lá låi-lá-lá låi-lá låi-låi-lá
Refr.

I do not understand the language,so i may have copied and pasted some additional words from the site.I think i have managed to avoid that though, and posted just the lyrics.
