  • 80's 'sci fi' show, civil war in England

    Hi all,

This is something that I've been trying to find for a long time.

The show started with shots of men dressed as Monks, one of whom plants a sword.

The actual show was about a civil war in England (don't know when), which seemed to be contemporary. The bad guys all wore black, and they had black and red logos/banners.

The heroes of the show were resistances fighters. One episode showed a resistance fighter in a pub, drinking with one of the bad guy soldiers. The next day they ambush a convoy and the same resistance fighter sees the young bad guy dead in a truck.

That's all I can remember as I was quite young at the time. It's been bugging me for a couple of years, especially as I can picture one of the actors. he's your archetypal 'sinister brit' actor, with a rather large nose, white hair, posh accent. He's been in loads of shows, but of course, he's not in any now as he's probably retired, so I can't even find it that way. Any help much appreciated.

Awesome! That's exactly it! Thank you. I'd love to see a remake of this.
