I watched THE SINGING RINGING TREE as a kid and for some reason it really stook in my memory, particularly the giant fish, i didn't know what it was called and could only describe it to people, giant fish, dwarf etc but whenever i asked people if they remembered it i got a resounding NO, i have since discovered that thousands of people remember it and it was almost a cult show, i now own it on DVD which has a bonus feature on the making and also an interview with the princess (forget her name)

Yes, the irony of schools programmes - we only saw most of them when we were not at school.

Picture Box never scared me (mostly because when I saw it I was off school because I never saw it in school) - Alan Rothwell did look a little scary though...

I only ever saw when it when I was off sick, the same went for" how we used to live".

Dominic West the English actor who played McNulty in The Wire , and the lecherous guy in The Affair normally has a very well spoken ", rather posh voice

Another couple of BBC children's shows:

"The Railway Carriage Game", presented by Gyles Brandreth.

I always remember how he introduced that with his posh accent and rolling Rs, "The Rrrrrailway Carriage Game"

"Star Turn", I think presented by Bernard Cribbins, and Graeme Garden was on it (or vice versa).

Yes, Picture Box's theme tune was rather eerie and that box thing revolving a little unsettling.

Picture Box never scared me (mostly because when I saw it I was off school because I never saw it in school) - Alan Rothwell did look a little scary though...

However, a programme I use to watch at school and home was Picturebox. I don't know what is it about the music and starting use to scare me.

You may be right I have a very vague memory of being at a mates house when it came on. Also don't remember anything about the show but was on a Monday night was Billy Dainty esq again I only remember the theme tune.

A game show a bit like Finders Keepers but with adults. The set was like the interior and exterior of a house. Can't remember it's name though

Was it called "Whose House?" and was on in 1999? I suppose that it was like Through the Keyhole meets those daytime house makeover programmes.
