90'S tv show about a band..... please help!!!!

Please help me think of this show, it was 90's, about a guy who wanted to make it as a singer in a band, think he was Scottish or it was set in Scotland. It was really good, think it was called something like 'How to be rock and roll star' or ' Confessions of a rock star', something like that. I can't think of it and it's driving me mad!!
