Another "trying to recall a 70s kids drama series" thread...

Ok, apologies but I cannot offer much to go on....

1) It was a mid-1970s contemporary drama
2) Produced / shown by the BBC
3) Set in a London suburb, near a canal (I think)

I cannot remember any story lines or characters butt definitely set in London. I mention the canal as my one abiding image of this program is of one of the main characters on a footbridge over a canal. It wasn't particularly light-hearted or "scary" (such as The Changes).

Any thoughts / clues / suggestions gratefully received!!

It sounds like "Sam and the river" made for the bbc, produced by Peggy Miller, held as 35mm print with the bfi.
