tv show from the 80's

Anyone remember a tv show/soap/drama from he 80's about a ficticious car manufacturer they used parts from a number of different real manufactuers and built a car from these parts from golfs etc.I think they only had 2 complete cars during the life of the show.might have been made in 1985?
