    Re: TV/Films That Scared You.

First film that made me feel bowel movements was, ...ok, not that scary, ...vbut I was only about eleven and 'House On Hauted Hill' the original version came on, my parents weren't in so our big sis let us watch the 'horror' I was trying to be brave and anticipate the fake ghosts etc, but when there was a scene when someone was tappping on a wall to see if there was anything behind it or something, ...this ghost was just there waiting on him looking up and, ....ohyafkr, I didna half jump!!!!

Theres only one movie that really really scared me (so much so that ive never watched it since)....Nightmare On Elm Street. I swear i didnt sleep properly for over a week! Freddy Kreuger doesnt scare me as much now but i still cant bring myself to watch that movie again.

I agree with Huggie about the likes of Saw: Torture Porn they call it. although it wasn't bad - it's the others in the genre I'm not keen on.
This stuff doesn't scare me in the slightest, so I wonder why people watch it. I always think of Horror as "Fairy Tales for Adults" and I want to be spooked (it's actually theraputic - I kid you not) but don't put me off me dinner! Scary, yeah, gross, no!
I couldn't eat pizzas for months after that scene in one of the Knightmare on Elm Street films.
              Not to mention The Fly...
Actually, it probobly helped my waistline...

"Late Night Story" used to rattle me something awful. As if having Tom Baker read "The Emissary" or somesuch to you wasn't unnerving enough, they had to go and preface it with this...
                Please don't tell anybody
that we're the real Duran Duran!
                We're just happy pretending

Not sure I've seen the original. Although I'm sure I've seen a few crappy re-makes.
Reminds me of one of my all time best Horrors "The Haunting"
                  The banging on the wall...

For me the scarriest TV had to be ITV's Thriller...I can remember my Nan babysitting on Saturday nights & she used to let me stay up and watch this with her.....They were all really scarey but especially the one with Diana Dores.......
I can also remember those public info programmes used to scare me s***less!!!!...

                      Kind regards

Mine TWIN PEAKS (the TV series)...absolutely terrifying ... When I grew up and they had re-runs on TV, I couldn't watch it cuz I was too scared and traumatized ...

One thing that used to scare me when I was about 5 or 6 was a car advert where a (black?) car was driving through a forest at night and you saw an owl, a Knight or something...Might have been a panther as well (possibly?). It was all set to a rather dark classical piece of music as well...

Can't remember what car it was for though.

Oh God I remember that Don't be Afraid of the Dark film too! It was horrifying
Do you remember the awful voices the little beasts had?
                            'Sally..Sally!'
                            Uuurgh, still makes me shudder!

I still cant believe they didnt "Advertise" it as a work of fiction instead of letting everyone believe it was a "live" documentory.

If it wasnt for the bit at the end with i think Michael Parkinson saying theres gremlins in the works and the funny stuff happening on screen i would probably still be thinking it was real.

                              Mad stuff

It was part of the Saturday night play season and it had a cast list and a 'written by' credit in the Radio Times. How much more advertising does it need? The poor old beeb can't be blamed because people are too thick to read and jump on a Daily Mail shock-horror campaign .

                                most frightening as a child

dont know what this was from, some spooky music then a woman gets up from a rocking chair with no face in a black nuns outfit i think

the pipes spurting blood everywhere in a hammer horror show

some black and white programme with a hole in the ground, i dont know what was in it but it frightened me as a kid

a programme about kids playing on a train track on nationwide which gave me nightmares
