Lol, in our house anything in those last 5 mins before the news was greeted with smiles and then when the news began at 6 on BBC1 we were sad, then at 6.30 Mum and Dad would turn over to ITN and watch that as well!!!!!! ARGH!

Oh yes! Sir P. has come up on the forum before, I think, as I recall saying that I loved the theme music but couldn't find it anywhere. Here's a cover version. The original is a bit faster and doesn't break into Camberwick Green halfway through!

I had Willow the wisp on tape cassette and listened to it over and over again.
I vaguely remember Nogin the nog altho it used to scare me

I think "The Magic Roundabout" used to be on for 5 mins immediately before the News at 5.50pm........I think the News was only on for 10 mins........Then local programme....
