  • Children's Film Foundation's DVD?

While on holiday me & my girlfriend were talking about Children's Film Foundation films, & she wondered if any had been released on DVD.

This link to Amazon (UK) lists some DVD's which may be of interest...

    Search of CFF at Amazon.co.uk

Thanks, I remember seeing some of those when shown on CBBC in the 1980s.

Alas those three DVDs are pretty much it for CFF stuff available now (actually, I think even they are out of print, now) which is a real shame. I've been watching The Glitterball on YouTube this week which is great and an all too brief clip of Pop Pirates with Roger Daltery left me wanting to see the whole thing.

It's a real shame that they're not being funded to make new stuff now. I don't expect today's kids to relate to a 1970s CFF film (although I think my 7 year old son would love The Glitterball) but there should be more stuff like that produced in Britian for British kids. At the moment it seems like once you're out of pre-school there's hardly anything for you other than US rubbish. We want our own rubbish!

Even 30 years ago there was plenty of American produced children's TV.

There certainly was but it was tempered with plenty of home-grown stuff for all age-groups. Now, it seems that once you're more than 5 there's pretty much only US fare.

I just went to youtube and typed in: Children's Film Foundation.I came up with this beauty, starring Peter Noone and somewhere,as usual: Keith Chegwin.

It is a Children's Film Foundation Road Safety Film called: Betcha! It was made in 1971.

                        Re: Children's Film Foundation's DVD?

Hi butty ive had a few requests for a copy of the dvds, Im in the process of uploading them to you tube so all can view/download if they wish and keep a copy themselves...there are numerous youtube downloaders available just copy the files onto disc then. I dont like people to make money out of holding onto things that others wish to see so id never sell dvd copies so hope others relax the grasp on titles they have and share with others too.

here is the link to ep 1 of sky pirates. ive only done 2 so far as they take a while to upload.

I'll be taking a look at those! The only thing I know about CFF was that they always had a round including a clip from one of those films in "Screen Test". Whatever happened to Michael Rodd? *dashes off to google...

I, too, am anxiously awaiting a copy of The Boy Who Turned Yellow. Haven't seen that short in over 30 years. This would be a splendid journey to the days of my youth!
