Advert break railways?

Does anyone remember a period on Channel 4 when they were showing driver's cab railway footage rather than adverts? I remember watching the Incredible Shrinking Man like this.

I can't remember it first-hand but Channel 4 had problems in it's early days selling advertising space (which was done via the local ITV station), also there was a dispute with the actors union over paying royalties for ads.

This sounds like a fill-in from the period.
