Would love to see this competition brought back, it would probably give winning the FA Cup more meaning, as it would be a single entry per country competition unlike the Champions (even if you don't finish as champions) League.

Dont know why it was done away with.
And i sure agree it would make the top english sides take the fa cup more seriously.

I agree yeah - but then you have the problem of if you have a winner from one CVountry and the Champion of that Country's Champion joining in the following Season too i think - but yer the ECWC sure enjoyed quite a comeback in the mid to late 90s I recall with Chelsea doing well and winning one of the last ever ones (if not the last ever) as well as i am sure one Season like 94 to 95 there was one English and at least 2 Scotland Teams in the SemisOriginally posted by darren View Post

IIRC it was discontinued due to fixture congestion. Bear in mind, the FA Cup winners go into the Europa League...
