From one George to another...

In episodes of the show around 1990 (when they had had that horrible gold-coloured set), just before the "Top, Middle or Bottom" game towards the end, Michael Barrymore often said: "each one of you will take home a copy of the board game", showing us a copy of the board game version before putting it down at the side of the podium closest to where the screens were. Barrymore's (I believe) pre-printed signature can be seen written in white on the front of the box. I assume that it was the same one as that?

I am also certain that these catalogues in the very late 1980s and very early 1990s such as Argos and mail order ones like Great Universal used to have them in the Toys and Games pages. These days, eBay and charity shops are the only places to look for them, and don't forget that the chances are, (just like jigsaw puzzles) that not all the pieces are intact!

Oh, how nice to know that so many people remember this wonderful game.

When I played a 2 player game I was almost across the board with 2 squares to go & the game just stopped, I thought at 1st I press the stop button, but after ejecting the disc, cleaning it & loading it again- it done it again. Well gutted!! can play on the PS2 all the way through, game is o.k for a bit.

How was the board game made up inside the box? I assume that playing cards mentioning prizes or Hot Spots represented the monitors seen on the show.

And they said that they couldn't put a quart into a half-pint pot...

Actually, I have seen the board game displayed as it was above, possibly illustrated in some of the catalogues circa 1990 - a few years ago, I saw a YT clip of someone (some game show anorak who collected board games which were based on TV shows) who had a copy of the board game assembled just like that. I have to admit that the sides of the board do remind me of Monopoly.
