Sci Fi memory people travelling through tubes??

Here I go again with another random memory that has popped in.

Very vague. People could climb into these tubes and travel around. I think Gary Coleman had something to do with it and the show that comes to mind is Buck Rogers, but I could be completely wrong. I'm not even sure that I'm really remembering it.

Any ideas?

UFO? Somebody gets into a tube in the titles.

Not very realistic though, it's 1980 and nobody is listening to Ska music, watching Dallas or signing on...

Could be, though I think this was a bit before my time unless I was watching repeats. It would have actually been 1980 or a little later when I saw it.

I'm slightly confused you seem to be describing Buck Rodgers in the 25th century , are you saying its not this but something along the same lines?

Yey, it is that. It's just me having a rubbish memory! I can't remember anything about Buck Rogers except for the little robot man and I thought it might be it but wasn't sure. Well done!

I don't remember Gary Coleman being in Buck Rogers at all, but then I paid very little attention to either this or Diffrent Strokes.
