Plastic Satchel of childrens's books 80s or 90s

Hi, I am trying to find a selection of children's books I had as a child. The books themselves were around A4 size, printed horizontally, and were kept in a decorated plastic satchel or briefcase. I think one of tge stories was about a mole who was the Mayor, possibly at some kind of summer fete, and in another I think there was a large tree in a forest where several animals lived that caught fire.
